Christmas Break

We had a wonderful Christmas break, although it went by WAY too quickly! My mom came to visit for a week, which was especially nice since she's not been here for Christmas. It was my "little piece of home" and helped me not be homesick over the holidays. Braiden had a blast too, having BOTH of his grandmas here. He had my mom playing Wii with him and she beat him at bowling once. (Major feat since he always kicks every one's butt!) They made and decorated Snoopy's doghouse/gingerbread house, made and decorated cut-outs and mom helped me with all the last minute things I had to do. Sandy and Bill (my in-laws) got here before Christmas as well, so we all got to celebrate together. Christmas Eve was spent over at Brian and Steph's (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law) watching the yule log on tv and having a nice dinner and drinks. The kids opened their presents from each other.

Christmas morning started at 5 am. Braiden just couldn't wait to come downstairs! He got an array of things, mostly legos, since he's on this lego obsession right now, and webkinz and cars. We got Brett an Eagles flag, fiki football, and a GPS for his car. I don't know what this says about me, but my boys got me 100 calorie packs of twinkies for my stocking. Braiden kept telling me that he had this "food" that he wanted to get for me. They're good, but just not the same as the real thing. Ha! If you're going to eat a twinkie, eat a twinkie, not the low fat version. I also got a digital picture frame and digital picture key ring. I've finally finished editing my Christmas pictures, so I can finally play with the digital frame and load some shots on it. Christmas day, the girls and kids went to see "Marley and Me", which was really good, but so sad at the end. That was the first time I've ever gone to the movies on Christmas, something new.

We also celebrated Braiden's birthday early, while he had all his grandparents here. He LOVED it!! We went to Sports Connection and bowled and did laser tag. Braiden only invited 3 friends to go along and the rest were family, so most of the adults bowled and some of us played laser tag too. That was the best...highly recommend it. Please note the ever so cute picture of Darnell and me with our guns. Ha! After we were all good and sweaty from that, we went to eat a sponge bob cake in the party room and open presents. Good times! OK, that pretty much wraps up my Christmas Break. I'll blog about more stuff later.
