End of Summer Beach Trip with the Girls

We just got back from our end of summer beach trip with the girls/kids and had SO much fun! It was wonderfully relaxing and just beautiful down there. I'd never gone to the Charleston area before, so it was extra special for me. Thanks so much to Carole and her sister's family for allowing us to stay at their beach house. It was perfect! All the kids were so good, no fighting what-so-ever. We couldn't have planned a more perfect trip. Sunday we drove there in rain the entire way, but when we got to the beach, it wasn't raining at all, just very ominous looking clouds. We let the kids go for a bit, but decided to not push our luck and ended up making it home just before the rain came. The rest of the week was hot and sunny. Braiden braved the ocean and boogy boarded for the first time. He LOVED it! Thankfully he and I didn't get stung by jellyfish as Lauren and Jackson did! Poor kids. The last night we were there, Carole took us to this absolutely gorgeous little spot between Isle of Palm and Sullivans Island. It's sort of hidden and you have to know how to get there, but once we were there, it was beautiful white sand and a setting sun, not to mention gracefully swimming dolphins all around. It was paradise! The kids were so excited about the dolphins, not as excited to be forced to pose for pictures, but we had to take advantage of the spot and the lighting. Too beautiful! This was just what we needed before heading back to work and school! Hopefully we've started a tradition!
