My Sports Addicts

As I write to you, my son is up 1 1/2 hours past his bedtime to watch the Eagles game, and I have to admit, I caved. I've come to realize that there's no changing my "sports addicts" that I have. I've already been told "nicely" that my mom and I need to find something to do this Sunday while the Eagles are on. To prove my point, here is a picture of my son last Sunday morning. The first thing that he did was get the sports page to "see the scores" from the football games on Saturday. God forbid we may have missed something. I had to crop the shot since he's in his "jammies" of a white t-shirt and underwear (like father, like son). I think it's cute though that Braiden wants to be all that his dad is. That's the way a father-son relationship is supposed to be, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanksgiving & Christmas in Ohio

I'm finally getting around to blogging about our trip up to Ohio for Thanksgiving (and we also celebrate Christmas while we're there since we won't go home for Christmas). We had an awesome time, even though we froze our butts off. Did I mention that we didn't have any snow?! So we froze our butts off for nothing. I don't mind being cold as long as there's snow to play in. Yes, I'm writing this, not my son :-) We had decided that we would try to get a nice family photo while me and all my siblings were together, and give it to my mom. That's all the photos that you're seeing. Don't look too closely if I send you a Christmas card, because I think one of them is the one we used. Braiden had fun opening his Christmas presents early. My mom and one of my sisters wrapped up presents of the things that they got him and I think that surprised him. We flew up to Ohio and had no room to bring presents back with us, so I shopped for them down here and they got the credit for it. My brother always gives him money and always comes up with some creative way to do it. This year was no exception. It came in the biggest box with Braiden's name on it. Inside was a bunch of crumpled up paper and a coloring book. Braiden pulled everything out, and thanked my brother for the coloring book thinking that was his gift. When he opened the book, my brother had taped three $1 bills to each page in the book! What a haul! He also got legos sent to the house prior to us leaving for Ohio, from my sister and her husband and a harmonica, voice changer thing and a deal or no deal game. He was quite excited. My mom got him a 20Q game. That thing freaks me out. If you've never played it, let me give you a brief description...you think of something..anything at all..then you start the game. It asks you a series of questions such as "Is it an animal?" etc. After the last question, it makes a guess as to what you are thinking of. If you answer the questions right, most of the time it DOES guess what you're thinking. It's kind of freaky. OK, that's my wrap of our Ohio visit. I'm done, since I'm sick AGAIN. I hope this isn't how the whole winter is going to be.
